About the studio

NEYA (meaning “her” in Bulgarian) is a New York–based jewelry design studio working at the intersection of architecture, sculpture, and jewelry. Founded by a Canadian–Bulgarian designer, each piece explores form, proportion, and material at the human scale. In many ways, jewelry is architecture at the smallest scale.

Ema, the architect and founder of NEYA

Meet Ema

Meet Ema, NEYA’s founder. Drawing from a background in architecture and a fascination with form, proportion, and materiality, Ema created NEYA as a way to translate architectural ideas into objects, each with its own story, that can be worn every day.

What began as sketches, models, and explorations of structural systems evolved into a collection of minimal jewelry inspired by architecture, art, and movement. Today, NEYA creates thoughtfully designed pieces that blur the boundaries between jewelry and object design - transforming concepts of space, structure, and form into every day wearable works of art.

Architecture as the guiding discipline

I was once told, “an education in architecture opens the door to designing far beyond just buildings.”

Architecture serves as our guiding discipline, not just as inspiration, but as a way of thinking. It allows you to imagine form before it exists, construct narratives around space and structure, and understand how to translate ideas into physical objects. That foundation shapes how creative problems are approached, fostering critical and creative thinking rooted in intention. At NEYA, we aim to create pieces that feel versatile, empowering, and accessible across different personal styles, professions, and identities.
